Spring Break

Don't judge me when I confess to you the following: I'm jealous of all of you students in Room 110. Why am I jealous, you may well ask? I'll tell you. It's because you get a whole week of that wondeful luxury known simply as "Spring Break." That means you get a whole week to "break" from all your labors. Labors is a fancy word that used here means hard work. You get to relax, read a good book, have fun writing your Young Authors Day stories, or just stare out the window and day dream. Well, what about me? When do I get to take a break from all my labors? When do I get to relax and do nothing? You know, I don't like to complain, but my life is not as easy as I make it seem. For example, I spend a lot of anxious hours at night poised, waiting for Miss R. to sleep, before I began meowing for food, water, or to be let out. That kind of waiting is stressful and takes a lot of energy. During the day, I have to interrupt my napping to get up, yes get up, and move across the floor in order to keep up with the sunbeams. That's a lot of moving. Then again, no one brings my food to me. I actually have to walk all the way to the kitchen if I want to eat or drink. That's a lot of work. Far be it from me to complain, but my daily schedule is grueling and I could use a Spring Break from all my labors. (Here "labors" is a word that means I have to actually walk from my napping spot to the kitchen if I want to eat.) So, free me from my life of slavery and share with me what you did or are doing during your lovely break.

  2. Aaaah....shucks, JA#1. You're a special human kitten! Did you have a nice break? Are you ready for school to begin. I know I am ready for Miss R. to go back to school. She ran another race this morning and now she's bugging me about exercising, and cardio fitness and blah, blah, blah. She doesn't get it. Napping in the sun all day takes dedication and discipline. It's not nearly as easy as I make it look!

  3. PS...oops I used a period at the end of a sentence that was actually a question and not a statement. Can you find the mistake? If so, do you want to be my editor? It doesn't pay a lot, but you'll be working for me:-)

  4. Dear Oliver,
What I did over spring break was, I went to Coolan park. I was coming to see you but I didn't know which apartment was yours and I had my dog. I went to the playground Iwent on the slingshot. I couldn't reach it so my dad had to come and pick me up. Then we went on a walk on the doke. My dog Belle can't swim and she almost fell in.
I went to kid vally to eat. I got chiken fingers and an oreo milkshake and I spilled my milkshake on my dog. I told my mom that Belle was covered in it. She didn't believe me so I picked her up and showed her. She said wow lets dump her in the water but I din't.
Then we went on the dock and watched the sunset.
That is what I did over spring break.

  5. Dear Treena,
Wow! You are a really good writer! I like how you picked up one thing that you did during break and wrote a whole lot of details about it. I picture everything. It sounds like you had a good time. Did you name your dog after the character in the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast?" I love that movie. I like the Aristocats even better, but that's "old school."

    Love,
    Oliver

  7. Dear McKenzie,
Who says the shoes stink? I think sweaty shoes smell delicious, but then, I think most things smell delicious. Hmmmm....delicious things have me thinking aboout food which has me thinking about pizza....I love pizza. I think I'll nap and dream about pizza until Miss R. comes home. I hope she brings a pizza.

    Love,
    Oliver
