Culinary Writers

Wow, the kids in Room 204 sure get to read interesting books. The Witches by Roald Dahl is a favorite story of mine, too. I think the little mice are adorable. I know, cats aren't supposed to like mice; they're supposed to eat them, but eeeeuuuuuwwww......yuck! Why would I want to do that? I especially like Bruno Jenkins. That boy appreciates a fine meal interspersed between lots of fine snacks. I think if Bruno were real instead of a fictional character we would get along really well, whether he were a mouse or a human. Who's your favorite character in the story? Why?

I'm currently rereading a book by one of my favorite authors, Betty Crocker. She writes fascinating, detailed descriptions about my favorite thing in the whole world, food. Miss R. says reading a cookbook doesn't really count as reading, but what does she know? She's a terrible cook! What books are you reading now?

  1. My favorite character in the boook is the narrator because he could train nice when he was a human. Also, he was smart. He thought that Bruno and he should go see the narrator's grandma before Bruno went home.

The books I like are ones full of adventures.

  2. My favorite part of "The Witches" was when the narrator's grandma said the England's witches can turn kids into hotdogs and make parents eat them.

My favorite writer is James Howe. I like the way the parents didn't know that Bunnicula was a vampire.

  3. "The Witches" is a great book. I think the best character is the Grand High Witch because she is so mean. I am reading a kitten book right now.

  5. My favorite character is the main character. He is the little boy. I am reading "The Magic Fingerr." On November 6, 2010 I went to my friend's house. I saw a fat cat named Rocky, but you are fatter than him. Why do you sleep so much? ES #17

  6. Dear Kids, I loved reading all your comments. I can tell you are all prolific readers. I especially encourage you to read books about kittens or cats because those are the most intellectually stimulating and thought provoking in my humble opinion.

PS ES #17, I'll have you know that I am the perfect weight for any cat who is six feet tall. What do you have to say about that, Buddy?
